9 food stories you don’t want to miss…

Published by Connie Veneracion on June 4, 2024 in Newsletter

… And why there were no newsletters for almost three months.

We’re moving. Our needs have changed. The pandemic resulted in more family members working at home, and we really could use a different set-up. It doesn’t necessarily mean a larger house (although that would be nice) but one where there are more clearly designated spaces to work on projects.

Budget is, of course, a major concern. I don’t know if we’ll have to give up a second kitchen (wish we don’t have to) or being content with a smaller garden. We had been house hunting for a while but we realized that the best way to sell our house is to first move to a rental, vacate and sell our house, then buy or build a new one. We’ve already found a rental and we’re just waiting for the owner to finish repairs.

Meanwhile, we have started packing.

We have also taken photos of our house to provide the real estate agent to get things rolling.

With everything going on, I still manage to publish new posts in the blog. There have been nine since the last newsletter.

  1. Microgreens and a side dish of green beans
  2. Can soft tofu be substituted for firm tofu?
  3. Let me describe the flavors of sesame sprouts
  4. Is Mexican queso the same as nacho cheese?
  5. What’s in your salad bowl today?
  6. All-day breakfast sausage and egg burrito
  7. May I suggest this one-pan chicken in lemon cream sauce for tonight’s dinner?
  8. Need inspiration for lunch? Try tonkatsu with hoisin and gochujang glaze.
  9. How do you prefer your trail mix: more nuts, seeds or fruits?

At this point, I cannot promise that I will be able to send a weekly newsletter. Perhaps, a monthly or bi-monthly schedule would be more doable. But that’s just until we’ve moved and settled in. Once we have, I’ll be reverting back to the weekly routine. Until then, happy cooking and eating, and keep smiling.
